As you may note, the pinkness level is slowly increasing.
New futon cover for summer.
Also new stand mirror, courtesy of sharemate who is moving out and trying to get rid of a bunch of stuff. Also put pink lace on the bottom of the closet curtain.
Actually, this view is nearly the same, just daytime.

What They Say, What They Mean: Japan edition
There are some linguistic differences between Japanese and English that appear even if you're speaking in the same language. Therefore, here is a chart which may or may not accurately reflect differing degrees of certainty between the two languages.
"Maybe..."
America: "Possibly..."
Japan: "Probably..."
"I think..."
America: "I have a random thought."
Japan: "I am reasonably certain that..."
"It's better if..."
America: "Here's a suggestion."
Japan: "You are about to hear my final opinion on the matter. Take it or leave it."
In short, you can generally* feel safer about a Japanese person's guess than an American's absolute fact. As Captain Kirk once said.
*By which of course I mean in almost every case.

Random Stuff
Working full time has me wondering how grown-ups manage this life thing... I have to start teaching fewer English classes after work because I feel like I have no time for anything lately!
Looks like I'll be able to make a trip back to California around the end of June. The main purpose is to have my remaining two wisdom teeth removed, which isn't exactly my idea of a vacation.
Last Saturday I went to see a doctor of Chinese alternative medicine. Souichirou often sees this person for back trouble, and we went together. I have no idea what the methodology was...Something to do with Qi. I think the doctor felt for points with a lot of stress...and then took the stress away? I don't know how it worked, but my back felt a lot better after.
Also the clinic was on an island, and it was really good to get away from the city for a while.

The Weekend
So the weekend was really busy, but here are a few pics I stole from Mom's blog. Hahaha
Finally got a chance to see the Sweets Festival in Hiroshima before it left. Some of the structures were pretty amazing!
This pic of all of us at the Okonomiyaki restaurant makes me squee... I guess being in a small room with the boyfriend and the parents is not the easiest thing in the world. But I'm glad everyone had fun!

Flower Festival
Some Hula dancers from Hawaii.
School children performing a synchronized dance. The little ones had no idea what they were doing, which was hilarious to watch. The older ones were pretty good, though.
In the Peace Park, there was a giant pyramid of flowers. And some giant paper cranes!

This week
This last week has been pretty rough... I'm still just praying I can get through it alive and pick up the pieces on the other side.
I think the problem with trying to do what feels like the right thing is sometimes you feel really crappy and there's no way to change it. At least if you follow some code you're not responsible when things turn out crappy.
Anyway I took some pics last weekend at the Hiroshima flower festival. Uploading soon!

A little late, but here are some pics from the trip to the zoo last Saturday. Great way to kick off Golden Week!
